Creating the 'Bluey the Blue Tongue' costume

David Moore of Teague Moore Design of Katoomba conceived Bluey as a logo for our station. The Workshop in Katoomba created a costume of Bluey D. Bluetongue who has become BLU FM’s new mascot.

The Workshop opened two years ago and is run by Doug and Roe Denham as a studio workspace. It is a work-for-the-dole program that builds sets, props and costumes for festivals and creates fairy gardens for children’s hospitals.

Doug has art directed major community festivals in Byron Bay, Griffith and Deniliquin. He also art directed last year’s Winter Magic Festival in Katoomba, including the street parade, ball and launch party.

Doug created the Bluey costume for Colin Wilcox, BLU FM’s fundraising coordinator.
