Barry O’Sullivan has been involved
in the jazz scene for many years, even running his own jazz venue
in Sydney: ‘Frying Times Fish Café’ in the 80s. His program 'Jazz
on Sunday' has been heard locally on BLU FM in the Blue Mountains
for the past seven years. 'A Jazz Hour' now approaches its third
year nationally on COMRADSAT. His extensive knowledge of both the
local and overseas scene makes the program an ideal listening base
for jazz fans across the country.

The program strives to create
an awareness of primarily the musicians involved in the local scene
and their music, while bonding with the music being recorded internationally
by their contemporaries. Nostalgic recordings from the bebop and
swing eras are also given prominence from time to time as Barry
believes that these are the very roots of jazz history which can
never be ignored or forgotten.
